Talkatone setup

Step 1: Making Calls

You need to accept Google Voice’s terms of service in order to make free calls via Talkatone. To do this:

  1. Click this link: www.google.com/voice on a computer (won't work on mobile phone)
  2. Click the “Proceed” button in the popup screen
  3. Start up the Talkatone app on your mobile and call any US/CA number for free!

Note that you can now make OUTBOUND calls via Talkatone. However, calls that you make from Talaktone will come from a central Google number (707.359.4608). When your friends try to call you back on this central number, they will get a “sorry your call cannot be completed" error message. To receive phone calls in Talkatone, you need to continue the free, Google Voice sign up process and get a Google Voice number. Once you get this number, calls you make from Talkatone will come from this number and your friends will be able to call you back on this number.

Welcome to Talkatone
